Meanwhile (as in this storyline in progress)… Dale Lately slips away from the gathering (not one for great ceremony)… retrieves a rusty bike from a lamppost, rides through the endless Manchester winter night, and emerges sometime around the 22nd century…. where cities are rivers and cyclists are canoeists, where the great powers are now great illusions, where poets and story-tellers are guerrillas of the floating world…
